I can’t describe how much I love this. I love the idea of watching a scene in which characters are watching a movie. You relate to the characters responding to a scene. You’re enjoying watching them enjoy it. This kind of meta-appreciation. For some reason when films are featured within films it always seems so profound to me. The scene that they chose to show in the movie, the one snippet. I remember when I was younger and I saw this scene and it made me so desperate to see a Rita Hayworth film. I remember being so excited when I watched Twister and the drive-in theater that got wiped out was screening the Shining. It’s always been one of my favourite things.
